We've been informed that Phil Mickelson has put his driver back in the bag for round three. For the first two rounds, Mickelson changed out his driver for an extra wedge and used an 11-degree 3-wood to try to find more fairways on the Torrey Pines layout. But that proved to be a poor choice as Mickelson is T135 in fairways hit through 36 holes, hitting 12 of 28.He probably figured it couldn't get any worse by putting back the driver. He entered the third round seven shots off the lead and after two early bogeys, has gotten it back to one over par for the round with a birdie at the par-5 ninth. He is paired today with Adam Scott. The two were grouped with Tiger Woods for the first two rounds.
